Posture: the position in which someone holds their body when standing or sitting.

Dynamic posture: is how you hold yourself when you are moving, like when you are walking, running, or bending over to pick up something.
Static posture: is how you hold yourself when you are not moving, like when you are sitting, standing, or sleeping.
We were not born with poor posture. We trained ourselves to have it. So it's time to retrain ourselves. It is possible. We can help improve our posture in as little as a few weeks. Having good posture is very important. It's all about achieving better balance and alignment. It is important part of your long-term health. If you retrain your self to hold your body the right way while your standing or sitting still, you can prevent future discomfort, pain, injuries and other health problems.
Once you have achieved better balance and alignment all you have to do is continue practing it to maintain your new and improved posture. Not only can it help you look better but it can help you feel better. examples of dynamic posture and static posture.
some general suggestions for improving your posture and why posture is so important.
- Place you feet about shoulder width apart, the same stance you would use for working out or many other physical actives.
- Stand up straight
- Keep the weight on the balls of your feet
- Keep your shoulders square
- Pull your head back and up

Examples of bad posture:
- Slouching (shoulders hunched forward)
- Carrying something heavy on one side of the body
- Wearing high heels shoes or tight clothing
- Holding phone between neck and shoulders
- Keeping your head held to high or looking down to low
- Slumping forward while sitting in a chair
- Sliding forward on a seat
What you always have to keep in mind is that the overall cause of bad posture is tense muscles. Tense muscles pull the body out of alignment. You should ask you masseuse which exercises you can preform that will help assist in stretching and relaxing the major back muscles. Some people may find that some forms of mental relaxation are effective in helping relax the back muscles such as mediation. Others find treatments and activities such as yoga and massage therapy.
In order to have correct posture each part of the body has to be in alignment with its neighboring parts. When you have proper posture you are helping your body parts be balanced and supported. It isn't easy remembering to sit up straight, walk straight or to even lift or carry heavy objects a certain way. But if you can retrain your self to do these things in the long run it will show to be most beneficial. You will have less pain, soreness issues with your body and all of it's beautiful parts.
